Since the working environment and material characteristics of the vertical filter press are fixed, to achieve the purpose of anti-corrosion, the anti-corrosion performance of the material itself must first be improved. The material of the filter plate group generally includes metal and non-metal.
Non-metallic filter plates are usually polypropylene filter plates. Polypropylene has excellent corrosion resistance. For inorganic substances, except for oxidizing media, no matter acid, alkali or salt solutions have any destructive effect on polypropylene. However, because the tertiary carbon atoms in its molecular structure are easily oxidized, it cannot be used in strongly oxidizing media (such as fuming sulfuric acid, concentrated nitric acid, chlorosulfonic acid, chromic acid, etc.) even at room temperature. Polypropylene is insoluble in all organic solvents and has good corrosion resistance to most acids. Chemically modifying polyolefin to give it better mechanical properties can achieve the purpose of "replacing steel with plastic".
Although polypropylene filter plates have good corrosion resistance, they have poor low-temperature impact strength and are prone to brittleness; they have poor weather resistance and high electrostatic properties. At high temperatures, the linear expansion coefficient of the polypropylene filter plate is large, twice that of ordinary PVC materials, which increases the deformation of the polypropylene filter plate and produces extrusion force on the mating part of the filter plate. In this case, it is not advisable to use polypropylene filter plates. In this case, metal filter plates are generally used. Metal filter plates are classified according to material and can be divided into ordinary carbon steel, 304, 316 and other types.

The pressure imbalance on both sides of the filter plate of the diaphragm filter press will cause deformation and damage to the middle part of the filter plate.
When the filter press is working, the filter plate needs to withstand a pressure of 0.6MPa. The pressure of the slime water causes the water to filter out through the filter cloth, and the solid particles form a slime cake. During normal operation, the pressure on both sides of the filter plate is balanced, and the pressure gradually rises from small to large to the outlet pressure of the feed pump. When the work is abnormal (why the water outlet is blocked), the pressure in the flow chamber will quickly rise to the outlet pressure of the feed water pump, while the water outlet on the other side of the filter plate is normal or the feeding is unstable) the pressure in the filter chamber gradually increases, This creates a pressure difference on both sides of the filter plate, causing the middle part of the filter plate to deform, thereby damaging the filter plate.
Therefore, during the feeding of the filter press, the water outlet situation must be carefully observed. If there is no water outlet, the water outlet may be blocked. Stop the water supply pump immediately and pull open the compression plate if the water outlet is blocked or the water outlet is blocked or the water outlet is blocked. If the filter plate does not flow smoothly, it should be inspected and repaired. After troubleshooting, resume feeding and filtration
